A Recipe for Life
Updated: Mar 30, 2022

I've been letting my kids do the scripture for each week. This week it's Jovie's turn. So without further adieu...
What great words by a great little girl!
Trust.
It can be hard to come by in our day and age. Sometimes it feels like every thing and every one is suspect. Is this news correct? Is he telling me what he really thinks? Can I trust that my kids will do what they say?
Good thing Proverbs 3:5 didn't start out..."Trust in your favorite news source..." or "Trust in president with all your heart..."
No. We are called to put our trust in the only One worthy of it at ALL TIMES...God!
You can do that. And so can I. The best thing is that when we do, it takes a lot of pressure off. You don't have to be as anxious anymore. You can have peace in a chaotic world because you are trusting in the One who made and controls it all.
I want to challenge you to put your trust back where it should be...in the Lord. So let me ask, what do you need to do to make that happen?
I'll tell you what I'm doing. I'm turning off the news for a whole week (maybe longer). I don't need to be anxious about inflation, or conflicts, or politics, or crime rates, or mandates. I need to trust that God is in control and acknowledge that.
What do you need to do? Let's make it happen this week, and put our trust back in the only One who is worthy of it.
God, help us to trust in You. Not in man, or our own wisdom, or in things. We recognize You are above all and that's all we need. Thank You for the peace you give. Amen.
