The Great Commission

Updated: Mar 30, 2022

Last week we looked at the great commandment. Today I want to encourage you with the great commission. Take it away, Jace!

On the count of three. One. Two. Three! Aww! ❤️

Now that you love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength AND your neighbor, what's next?

It's time to be a disciple maker. I mean, you're a disciple. So why wouldn't you want others around you to be. Let me quote a book I'm reading with my family called Brave By Faith, by Alistair Begg...

"Talk about Jesus and you risk being met not with interest or politeness but with hostility and rejection.
And so, many of us don't
And, not speaking about Jesus, we notice that no one around us is coming to faith -- and so we conclude that no one ever will. Our silence becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy." [emphasis added]

We are to make disciples. Tell others about Jesus. Invite them to church. Witness to them with our life and our words. We are to go and tell.

Nowhere in Scripture does it say that we are responsible for the results. That's God's job. No. We are simply responsible to obey by telling, inviting, showing, speaking, introducing the Good News to those around us, be they family, friends, neighbors, or strangers.

God is using you to influence the lives of the kids at church, but remember that He also wants to use you to reach those around you outside of the church wall.

God, help us to share the Good News of Jesus with those around us. I pray that we will be brave. Give us courage. And help us to leave the results up to You. Amen.
